Holes

This book is compelling and very intriguing at the same time, and is wonderfully written.
Our story begins with our protagonist Stanley Yelnats, a boy with bad luck originating from his No-good-Dirty-Rotten Pig stealing great great great grandfather. After being framed for stealing the shoes of a famous baseball player, he is sent to Camp Green Lake, which really isn't a lake at all, but a wide expanse of desert, where the boys are forced to dig holes that are 5 feet by 5 feet, and can only stop digging when the holes are finished.

The lady who runs the camp is called the Warren, and is making the boys dig holes so that she can find the plunder of Kissin Kate Barlow. The character Zero is Hector Zeroni, the Great x3 grandson of Madame Zeroni, the person who cursed Stanley's Grandfather, and was caught stealing the SAME SHOES that dropped off of the freeway onto Stanley's head, and he had thrown them when he saw the cop car.
Overall the book was good, but the ending was kind of sudden, and a little disappointing. It does tie up well though, but the way they survived in the desert is a bit far fetched and unorthodox.
